Sunna is trying her best.

Sunna is trying her best for me in battling through the British wet weather.
The tomatoes are just starting to ripen and I've picked my first few
luscious red fruits off the vine this week. I've still got my grans
Green Tom chutney recipe at hand though. I've a feeling it may
come into use this year.

....and doesn't the sight of ripened blackberries just scream Autumn.
Warming crumble pies with lashings of custard.

  3. Are crumble pies like apple pies with a crumble-like top but no bottom crust? I have never heard of a crumble pie. Not that the blackberries would make it inside my house. I would eat as much as I could hold before I left the garden.

  4. Thanks for the comments everyone.

Amethy yes, crumble pies are just a pie base filled with fruit and crumble put on top instead of a pastry top.
